Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
