The families of teens lost after a tragic fire at a establishment in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an painful wait for answers and appealing for clues about their children publicly.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed footage depict the roof structure igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which killed 40 people and wounded another scores more. The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is dead, without mentioning the fire, paying tribute to a "talented young man who represented dedication and true sportsmanship."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is awaited.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His parent said that he had been on vacation but had gone out with a group and ended up at the bar.

"Someone with him informed me they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.
