Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match after voicing frustrations and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
