Recent details have emerged concerning the shocking deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an session initially became concerned after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family challenged several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

The source also pushed back against widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
