Young golfer preparing for major competition

The rising star maintains substantial online audience

The young golfer will have plenty of prominent supporters as she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

The former president, an avid golfer, operates several courses worldwide and frequently competes against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we play competitive games," she revealed.

She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply stay calm."

"He practically suggested to play and have fun," she explained.

"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, making him rather occupied."

Being non-professional, Kai has participated in just three tournaments recently and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA listings.

But she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with her mother.

"He stands as the top athlete worldwide," Kai stated.

"Additionally, he's a superior person. He suggested me to play, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."

She'll challenge several the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

Officials stated that Kai's presence brings golf to new audiences, specifically among younger fans.

The social media influencer boasts millions of followers and recently launched her own apparel and wellness company.

Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
